The National Zoo in Delhi is quite nice, large (176 acres), and very close to the Purana Qila (Old Fort) – you can visit them both at once 🙂 The nearest metro is Pragati Maidan.

There’s lots of different places to try. If you want culture or souvenirs, there’s Dilli Haat, and Pragati Maidan sometimes has fairs. If you want simple stuff like clothes etc., try Paharganj, Sarojini Market or (I shop here) Lajpat Nagar. For more glamorous shopping, if you don’t like malls, there’s always Connaught Place.
